Post 2 edited. The creature must be placed in the world before adding the script, especially the updated one.

This tutorial is also posted elsewhere but this is the only forum I regularly visit and post in these days, so I'm putting it here for anyone who is interested.

HOWEVER: PLEASE DO NOT POST THIS TUTORIAL ANYWHERE ELSE WITHOUT ASKING ME FIRST.

This was written before the recent scripts update so I'll post the new script with the sneak function and added summon spell at ...

Yesterday I decided to bring one of my favourite characters back from the dead. She's a Lineage Elf (pics in the screen shot thread) and I haven't played Oblivion with her since early last year.

My esp is customized with extra hair and eyes etc and for some reason her old saves wouldn't work so I had to import the face and start again. Anyway, I think she looks better this time round with higher res textures etc.

I suspect it's due to some cosmetic change I had in the esp or something ...

ADDING ITEMS TO THE PLAYER VIA A SIMPLE QUEST

PLEASE DO NOT POST THIS TUTORIAL ANYWHERE ELSE WITHOUT ASKING ME FIRST.

This will probably be edited and added to as I see things that need clarification or if anyone has additions to make. It's been awhile since I did even a simple quest.

This tutorial deals with adding an item(s) to the player via a simple quest. For example a note or a weapon or multiple items. It can also be used to add spells directly to the player, but I'm ...

To manually add eyes and hair to your custom or vanilla races this is the method I prefer. Even though using Wrye Bash is one way of doing it, this is also foolproof and simple. It prevents conflicts absolutely. It can be time consuming, but is easy and you can customize your race individually to your specifications.

To use eye meshes other than the default human eyes add the required meshes to your race folder and direct the eyes path to those files. ie Elaborate Eyes or Ren's.

Instead of adding this to the bottom of each tutorial I'm making a separate topic and it can be added to if necessary.

Any general questions about the CS controls and item placement etc, can be answered here rather than in the tutorials themselves.

CREATE A NEW CHEST TUTORIAL

PLUS ADDING ITEMS FROM OTHER MODS

It's a good idea to use a prefix that's easy to find for all new item ID's. For example AA or your initials. It makes the entries easier to find later if you need to add or change anything, but don't use spaces.

Underscores are OK and the actual name of the item that will show in game can be anything you like.

You can save more often than I have below obviously, if your CS crashes or has any problems. So far mine ...

Why do Googly Eyes happen?

Each plugin replaces entire records in the master. Hair, Eyes, Whiskers,

Lashes, Head and Body meshes are all stored in a single record for each race. So you

can't add hair in one mod, eyes in another and lashes in a third...

only one will show through (the last in the load list). But the

textures are replaced separately, so you get eye textures from one ESP

on the mesh listed from another.
